Sweet Lost of Poetry

I’ve heard of bards sing before
of a thousand lovesongs or so.
I’ve seen minstrels of the lore
vainly flatter absent woe.

But all I hear is untune
and fluttering flattery.
From the shadows, said the moon:
Ah, sweet lost of poetry.
