In Fragments

So it seems that time can pass

Faster than most constant things

And it trickles slowly

It teases

It unveils the trickery until

A second seems like forever.

Perchance the moment happened

When time had stopped

Its teasing

Long enough to unravel and undo

People at their best

And perchance time had slowed

Long enough for me to grasp

That moments gone and moments lost

Aren’t all that special

Unless they contained you

In fragments long gone

In fragments of time

More precious than my own.
