Rock Baby, Rock

I,

Chose the saddle and the steed,

Drove them by thought and will

Where I

Chose not to meddle,

Lest I be forgotten or better,

Forsaken,

For I

Chose the shield and the trench

From where to drink

To pilfer shade and repose for

I,

Now only walk in your imaginings,

Your footfalls and your sighs,

Things I will never share

But had dreamt of.
